Dinner, Dancing, Children, and Swing: Coming up at Your Public House

August has proven to be a busy month over here at the Public House. We’ve had 2 beer tastings (winners will be announced in the next few days, we promise), our first monthly potluck, election coverage, pub trivia, some rock and roll, a craft fair, and there’s still more to come!! Below are some highlights.

This Saturday 8/20 we have 2 great events, each of which brings something new to the table. The first is Tots and Tonic, an event for children and their parents which will have arts & crafts stations for the young ones, plus day drinking for the not so young. That’s Noon-4 on Saturday.

Later that day, we’re hosting Milwaukee’s Slow Walker, Begin by Gathering Supplies, and Bully Pulpit. This is going to be a killer show.

Then on Tuesday 8/23, we’re debuting a new idea from our Annual General Meeting, which is to host dinner and music for a special price. The Public House is proud to present its first Co-op Cabaret, which will include beautiful Trio Du Monde live european style cafe music plus delicious food catered by Riverwest’s very own Theresa Kenney. A relaxing, low-key night of dinner and dancing at your Riverwest Public House.
$8 per plate, advance tickets available at the bar. Hurry, space is limited!

Heavy App Tasting Menu will Include:

Tiddy Oggys – A Cornish Pasty (Vegan and Meat filled)

Vegan Korean BBQ (Seitan) with Crunchy Cole Slaw on a Wrap

Vegan Green Kimchi Wraps (Lacinato , Kale, carrot and Kimchi)

Sweet Potato Quesadillas (vegan or vegetarian) (corn and flour)

Kids should really like the sweet potato quesadillas as they will be mildly seasoned.

On Friday 8/26 we’re hosting the good time country-swing of the Western Starlanders plus the Gypsy Folk Blues Kick yo Ass Bluegrass of River Water Tribe. Western Starlanders played during our grand opening week and people have been asking us to host them again ever since. This is not a show to miss!

Finally, Saturday 8/27 is Keep It Dirty, the Public House’s queer dance party. At $10 a ticket, you can expect a wild night. All the money is being donated to Tranzmission’s “letters to queer prisoners” project.
